Keep on churnin’
with Casaundra May & James!
A blistering musical celebration of rebirth, rising from the embers of the past lives of two unique individuals, Casaundra May and James Cox. With musical roots four miles off Highway 61 on Dry Bayou Road south of Rolling Fork in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Casaundra and James explore numerous genres with a theatrical flair and a commanding sound that beckons you deeper into their world. Kokomo Arnold and Amy Winehouse collaborate with Tom Waits, Muddy Waters, and Meg & Jack White, raising good times from the ashes of the bad.
Casaundra May
Casaundra May lives her life with the same passion and intensity that she brings to the stage. Having lived across the Skagit Valley for most of her life, she channels the great jazz and blues singers from the Golden Age of music. But Casaundra’s been through some stuff. The all-nighters, passionate fighters, and deals that came undone, reborn in a voice, irrepressible, and nostalgic for a time that never was. Occasionally scandalous, eternally entertaining, Casaundra dominates her space and carries the room with her charm and a sound at once unique yet familiar and exciting.
James Cox
Having grown up on the shores of the Mississippi River listening to the trains during the final days of the Rock Island Line, James Cox kicked around on the guitar for a longtime but never did anything with it. When he finally got serious, he was too old to get good, but here he is.
